When the photographer becomes the client!
As a boudoir photographer I have had many clients have trust me to capture their intimate photos and empower them through my art but until this summer I have never had a boudoir photoshoot myself. Isn’t that wild? I have taken selfies of myself and with my partner before but that doesn’t compare with the experience of being vulnerable and trusting someone else to capture those intimate images for me.
I had been following Moss Boudoir/Misty Moss for a long time and to say I am a huge fan of her work is an understatement. Even though she is thousands of miles away in Victoria, BC I knew she had to be the one to photograph my first session. I decided to book both an indoor and outdoor session to make sure I got the most out of my experience as possible.
You wouldn’t believe how extremely nervous I was the morning of my session! I made sure to eat a good breakfast, I soaked in the big tub in my air bnb and shaved every bit of my body, oiled up my skin and did a lot of deep breathing. I knew my photos would be amazing, I knew I would have a great time and I knew what to expect but still, I was a nervous (but excited) wreck.
My experience with Misty did not disappoint! I found in her a like minded soul, the vibes were immaculate and the session unforgettable! Just look at these photos!! Taking part in boudoir sessions with other photographer’s is truly essential to being able to relate to the feelings my clients have and I will be doing so again!
While I was visiting BC I also took just a couple self portraits in my air bnb as well as photographed 2 couples sessions there. I am working on improving my selfie skills this year, but here are some of the photos that I have never shared before!
I will be making a separate blog post for my couples sessions I did while I was there, they are so incredible and breathtaking they deserve a spotlight on their own!
